Best 6GB dual channel kits?

This thread is just spam. Even if there are 2 x 3GB kits it would still be way more cost effective (and logical) to get 4 x 2GB.

you need 6gigs today, 8gigs tomorrow.like what ethan3.14159 said,"still be way more cost effective (and logical) to get 4 x 2GB." 2 x 3 kits are very limited and made by a few. and the reason for this is what ethan3.14159 said.

No one uses dual channel memory anymore, it's all triple channel!

The majority of people are still on dual, it is only a few that have 1366 systems, most are on the older sockets (775, AM2, AM2+ etc) or AM3/1156

You don't need 6GB at all, I'm sat on 4GB and nothing is slow, I've never got all of my memory being used, highest I have seen it is ~70%, and that was gaiming with steam, xfire, TS, Opera and MSN open, so no, you most certainly don't need 6GB as an average user

And for 2x3GB, you won't get any, the only "2x3GB" that you will see are typos, like this:

http://www.overclock.co.uk/product/...3-16000-2000MHz-C9-Tri-Channel-Kit_33362.html

You are better off getting 2x2GB, 4x2GB, or if you really really want 6GB, then 3x2GB or 2x2GB + 2x1GB would be the way to do it

Probably best just to get a 4GB kit and if you feel you really need the extra memory, get another kit. 6GB kits in dual channel are rare for a reason, because they just don't work that well and don't have a real application.

6gb is most common in tri-channel, simply as 3x2gb
I don't know of any good 3gb dimm's but thats not to say they dont exist somewhere

Keep in mind, the RAM is not specifically dual or tri channel, simply it's sold in sets of 2 or 3 to accomodate that setup on the board.

If you put 3 x 2gb into a dual channel configuration (1 channel has 4gb, 1 channel has 2gb) it will work well on most boards, however some will make you pull your hair out and just use 4gb or go buy 2gb more to have 8gb total.
