i had all those norton, zonealarm firewalls. they are just a pain in the ass. i use the windows firewall and i havent had a problem in a long time.

Your using a firewall that only protects one way and that's in.Computers can be turned into whats called Zombies and when they do will send out infections to other computers.Sometimes you know, sometimes not.Better firewalls also monitor outgoing and if it shows suspicious activity, you could be infected and not known if it wasn't for the 2 way firewall not the 1 way windows one.

Big wobtie freakin doo, who really cares??? As long as you feel secure and dont get viruses why challenge it? I had zonealarm and it never came up with anything important for me to block.

how many people have you heard of that happening to them? ive never heard of it happening as after all the person is paying for the internet and if a ISP does cut you off. then they have just lost a customer and other potential customers becuase im sure that they wont recommend the ISP to thier friends...and the ISP can be seen as unsafe and thus resulting in more cutomer loss.edifier said:

your taking this too seriously, just relax. if they get a virus, hey its not your problem, so thiers no need to worry and stress about it.
back on topic: i use the windows firewall as well and the nvidia firewall and havnt had any viruses so far. also i have AntiVir and ad-aware, just the basics.

get something that has an antivirus, antispyware, and firewall all in one. much better. one program. less resource usage. makes life a whole lot better.

I can see what your saying.But i think its important to bring up these points so someone looking at getting a firewall for the first time knows this.And i guarentee, there are alot of windows firewall users out there that don't know this.This firewall is okay, but its not great and there are better out there.And just so you know, the above did really happen 3 years ago.Exactly as i stated it!.
