Hi, I have a abit motherboard that has intergrated nvidia graphics on it. Can i still use an ati radeon card? And what is the best card for a pci express 16x slot?

First what model of Abit board do you have there and OS you are running? The board specifications will show if the board has a PCI-E 1.1 or 2.0 type slot for a card to go into.

The 2900s then the 3870s and now the 4870s 2.0 type cards see the high end ATI models in those lines. An ATI PCI-E 2.0 card will still run on a 1.1 board while not seeing the full potential however simply being backward compatible.

Yes you can use a AMD/ATI card with a Nvidia chipset motherboard. The best AMD/ATI card out right now is a 4870 X2, but you better have a good P/S to power it.

Never buy a Open Box. You lose most of your warranty and only have a 15 day return. Its not worth the money you save. Plus if his P/S is a cheapo and cant run a 4850 I doubt it can pull a 3870 X2.

The open box deal seen there was the only model instock priced within the $200 range but obviously not the preferred choice by anyone. Any garbage supply isn't likely to run a bare bones case let alone a half way decent build. A good supply sees good regulation as well as sufficient amps on the rails.

I already knew that, thats why I asked why you even suggested it! Never mind, I dont want some 2 paragraph run around answer.

Then why recommend a lower end brand of card like PNY?

Like what brand you think is good means anything. PNY has been around along time and have fine products, have used many of there products over the years.

You used to say XFX wasnt any good because they sold them at Walmart till you got burned by many members. Your lack in judgement like the post above plus many others make you unqualifed to make that decision.
