BF2 Loading Times

Battlefield 2 pisses me off more than any other game. I can deal with the frequent crashes and horrible lag spikes, but the thing that gets me the most is the loading times. For me, loading times are upwards of 5 minutes, sometimes around 10 or 15... I have no idea what the hell is causing all this, but the "verufying client data" bs takes more than half the time.... is there any possible way to speed things up here??

O yeah, advice for EA- Wait a month and fix everything next time before rushing a buggy game out...

i play it fine, only takes about 45sec-1 min to load it.. no spikes, no crashes yet.. did you do the patch yet?
 
Yep, but I have no idea why... I have 1 GB of RAM and i shut down all my background apps... no idea why though.
 
it only takes around 15-20 secs by default settings. unless you pump up everything to the max then it will take longer.

where do you get the patch for battlefield 2? what does it do and what does it fix? does it make the loading times faster
 
lol... same here skidude takes me awhile also, but not as long. I heard that it checks every single file and thats why it takes so long. As for the patch it probably made more problems than it fixed. I hate EA....
 
lol, yeah, it takes a while for me too... 1 - 2 minutes normally. I once had a corrupted file and it ended up disconnecting me and everyone on the server at that time. It said I had a corrupted Memory file lol!
 
eh. All I know is That battlefield 2 is a great game. Loads real fast except for the first just after you make changes to video settings. A game that looks that good and runs that good and has addictive game play such as BF2 then its a good game in my books.
 
Defragged your drive?

It takes me about 1 min with the demo and I have everything completely jacked except res 1024 x 768..
 
I'm amazed at how long people are saying it takes the game to load. Here is my experience.

I loaded the map "Zatar Wetlands - 16" in 19 seconds from the point I clicked on "Single Player" to the point I click on "Join Game" If I leave the game at that point (Not back to desktop) I then can reload back into the game within 8 seconds flat. This I tested twice. Also bare in mind this is single player and maybe it takes longer for multi although I don't know as I've not played online yet. Still 19 seconds initial load and 8 seconds for the second load as long as I did not exit to desktop mind you.
 
You probably don't have the right hardware for it. Like ati video or 1.5 gig.

I would assume you where talking to the original person who started this thread but as you already posted. The following I'm wondering who you are talking too. Also what does ATi video have to do with it? Any "decent" video card can run the game well and has nothing to do with loading times.
