Bioshock, Olivion, Spore..crysis? On high??

He never implied that. He said that PC3200 was a measurement of speed.

Btw, you are one of the most obnoxious posters. One worded answers. How about elaborating and actually helping vs. just trying boost your boost your post count.

haha thanks. i always feel like crap when i go to computer forums because of the usual computer/forum elitists

Anyways, i think i have the measurement of the speed now
4096MB 667MHz PC5300 Dual-Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2-2048MB modules)

oblivion yes, crysis no.

to play crysis maxed with AA etc.. you need SLI or crossfire, or a dual gpu card.

it's really quite graphics intensive i suggest getting the HD 4850 though. with a light overclock you can play it on medium settings with good fps. medium settings is still very good for crysis.

hi. i know this may be a little late but i would like to differ. I think that the 4850 would be able to do more than just medium setting in crysis. i hv a 9600 and i can play on high with 4x AA, although im playin at only 1280x1024. there are people who can maxed out crysis with 4850, playing at low res. so surely the 4850 can do more than med. settings. alright, thats just my little thought.

my HD 4850 runs crysis on high... but gets lag spikes here and there at very high settings.

if you're really worried about it, then build a new system. if not get an HD 4850 and call it a day. the processor can easily be overclocked to 2.6ghz without any knowledge, and 3.2ghz or more with a bit of knowledge. people have gotten e2160's up to 4ghz before with a really good motherboard. it's just an e8400 with a low multiplier and less cache.

but, dual cards would make you able to run any game smoothly. that is, the HD 4850 or 9800gtx in SLI. the 9800gx2 does not outperform the gtx 280 though, so if its between those two just get the gtx 280 (or even the 4870).

but, starting from basics... what type of motherboard do you have? the HD 4850 is probably your best bet, its cheap and it'll run crysis on high (not very high, not without an overclock).
