I'm new on this site so please don't slag me...
I lost faith in consoles ever since PSN got hacked. I wanted to build a gaming PC for my birthday and although I can play of PC, I'm no hardware wizz and was hoping someone on this site could help me out.
I want a desktop that can run Shogun 2 and also MW3 and Battlefield 3 when they are released.
Can anyone list out a shopping list of the Board, Processer and Gaming Card I'd need?

There is a guy in my town that told me that if I got the guts for the PC that he'll cover the shell, fan, memory :)

Budget €900-€1,100 and beyond

What country are you in? A lot of European countries use the Euro, and will have different prices and retailers

maybe an ASUS P8P67 motherboard? or one of the newer Z68 series? Gigabyte also have some quality offerings with the GA-P67A-UD4 or UD7 though I have the UD3 myself

I just meant to say that I have no idea what LGA1155 motherboards are good. :p

pretty good hint

http://www.amazon.de/Gigabyte-GA-Z6...916?ie=UTF8&s=computers&qid=1307156346&sr=8-5
this appears to be a good motherboard, respected manufacturer, and the latest chipset (Z68).

http://www.amazon.de/ASRock-Z68-EXT...1_1?ie=UTF8&s=computers&qid=1307180401&sr=8-1

would be better, same features, same quality, near half the price.

And for graphics wouldn't get a 6790 either. Though it will play games, not all on highest settings, which given the budget, is more than possible to achieve:

http://www.amazon.de/HIS-H695F2G2M-...YL92/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1307180443&sr=8-6

would be better, and then the same CPU recommended previously:

http://www.amazon.de/Intel-Prozesso...8NX2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1307180547&sr=8-1

this is, however, assuming he can get shipping from Amazon.de

HIS is a good brand in my opinion. Got a 5770 from them in my PC, and i haven't had any issues with it.

Do you need a 2GB VGARAM? What is the resolution your computer processes 3D (e.g. gaming)? If you can get 1GB for cheaper. What PSU, What OS?

Youv'e lost me :p
Leave some links so far that the easiest to understand

In other words, if you can get it cheaper. The preformance difference between the 6950 1gb. and 2gb. is very little. Unless your gaming at very high resolutions.
