Again, YOU WON'T NOTICE A DIFFERENCE between a 3.0 and 3.2Ghz chip.

I think funz might of miss what I said because I could of swoan I said that already. Good idear with caps maybe he notice it this time.

I'm not by any means rich, im 13 years old and all I have is six familys that overpay for babysitting. By next year I'll be making $300+ a month, and my parents don't buy anything for me
Righto let's go with that for a moment ... if so, you should know about the value of money. So when you're paying 50% more for something that specialized in something other than what is desired ... that should scream "bad financial decision". Now if it doesnt scream that then it should be screaming "fanboy".

Praetor would u just shut the f*** up, I changed my mind and think a 3.2 would be better for him, but I guess a 3.0 would be ok too, im not an intel guy.

sry about that, i lost my temper. We are obviously very different people, with very different oppions on money, ect...
After looking at some specs, I agree that the 3.0Ghz would be the safer buy, or a celeron 2.4ghz would be ok.

I've been doing some homework and the VERY lowest I would want would be a P4 with HT or an AMD 2800. Haven't decided which will be best (cost wise)

If I were to do the AMD route, which mobo and mem. should I go with. I'm just terribly afraid of mismatching parts and choking the system on one pos part.

Well for what you wanted you really might wanna consider intel as your chip. But if you want to go AMD then I'd suggest one of the A64's and something like an ASUS or MSI (As I've come to realize) mobo. And then get either Corsair or GEIL memory, something like a gig (will prolly be CAS2 or 2.5).

Granted the lower the CAS the better but it wont matter horribly if your main focus isnt gaming

True again, but I've always thought that GEIL and Corsair "liked" AMD systems better because of the bus speed they run [together].

Ok this isn't exactly with the computer part, but to help your internet speed, Im not sure if this is correct or not. If you were to get a gigabit router and a gigabit card along with cat6 ethernet for cable internet, I think it may make your internet run faster.

I doubt you would need it but a gig of ram would make it faster.

If you are multi tasking I would go along with them and purchase something with hyper threading. 1000 dollars is 250 more than I spent on my computer and mine is pretty fast.

SATA would make your Hard Drive a little bit faster but not noticable for you most likely if you are not using it for things with big file sizes.

Also do you pay for your internet? Not trying to fight or anything but if your parent's pay for it they may be more likely to buy stuff for you than you think.

Sorry if this information is bad.

Sorry about that. I am really retarded. For some reason I thought you were defending the fact that you were 13 and your parents don't buy you anything. I must have been looking at two threads at the same time or something.

Having a gigabit router and card will only make your LAN faster if all the cards on all the computers are 10/100/1000 compatible. Having a gigabit line connected to your internet will do little unless you happen to have something like T1/T3/OC-10
