Build in progress (pics)

No not for the main plug. You need to plug it in. I have the same motherboard. It has a cover over 4 of the pins so you can use a p4 plug from the psu and use the 8 pin plug from the psu like I did. I posted a pic of where it's located. I believe it is a required connection.

Oh, you mean the cpu power port, or atleast thats what i know it as, it's to power the cpu (label on cable and in book) and yeah, i did have that in the first time, and i have in now, everything seems to be working.

burning Vista atm, oh and i will probably end up getting an lcd soon, i've had that other monitor for as long as i can remeber.
 
Sounds like you dont have all the Stand Offs on and your motherboard is Shorting out.

Make sure you have EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE BRONZE Screw stand off holding your motherboard off the case.

If you dont, The motherboard Shorts Out, and thus Wont Start.

That will most likely be your problem if all your jumpers are set right and it starts when you take it out.
