Build me a computer for $.

i would still be willing to help if you shipped everything, i would give the computer a once over and make sure that everything works, also i could put on a couple free programs to keep it clean, they are free downloads ccleaner and ad-aware
 
well if you want a new case, drive, ram, and vid card. you may as well just upgrade the whole thing. because your like 1/2 the way there. the only other things you would need is a mobo, cpu and then your completely brand new.

The computer i built last week is in my specs, i paid $801 including shipping from new egg. But you dont have to get as nice of stuff as i got.
 
I think all you need is more RAM and a newer/a video card like some other people have suggested. You probably dont need a new case, and DVD drives are only like $30 so im sure you can afford that. Its hard to say what you should do. If you find that you are going to be buying quite a few new upgrade parts, you might as well just get a completely new rig. I think the kicker would be PSU. If your current can handle a GPU upgrade that you would want, just get the card and more ram, i guess a new drive too, and continure playing total war. Hope this helps.

I am going to try and find out the specs on the old tower that i have so maybe it will be more worth it to upgrade that instead of build everything from scratch

I want a cost-effective solution to my computer...so what parts I can save and use, that would be the best since I am in school and them $$$ is hard to come by. I will also post pics of my Sony set-up this weekend.
 
Damn your a really trust worthy person. I wouldn't mail my computer to anyone. I don't even let anyone touch my computer if I'm not here watching what they do. Lol, WAYY to much money and time tied into this damn thing.

I went there. My wife works at Wake Tech, and I work at Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals in Clayton. Anyway, like I said...if that deal falls through, lemme know. Not trying to steal anyones thunder, but I do this as a hobby and am always willing to help someone out :cool:
 
ok in light of what was said about the guy willing to help out for free, and me about to become a student, i know that i would love it if somebody offered to help me do something for free, so i would completely understand if you wanted to go that route, just let me know if you want me to upgrade it for you or build you new or whatever you want, i love computers and i love finding a deal and i can honestly say that i would jump on this if it was me, that being said i would still love to do it for you, but just let me know

Hey man, I hope you're not mad about this... I was once in college and know what its like to want want want, but be short on cash. I'll help anyone out...especially college kids. At least you guy are doing the right thing by getting an education :)

Hey, im soooo not mad, he was offering money to do something that i love to do, so i was gonna take his offer, but if there is somebody like you that lives close enough to help out, i honestly would rather have him do that, i know what its like to be broke, i just hope that sometime if i need something i can find somebody like you that would help me out for free, good luck on the build and post what you guys end up doing to his computer!!!
