A question for you.

1. What type of games do you play? You have a high end system with a low end video card.

Definately change the power supply to something better, like this.

But the psu all depends on what video card you really need.

And as far as the hard drive goes, no driver would be required as long as you aren't running raid/ahci.

what will you be doing with this, cuz that build is just way off, better than many people have posted but the cpu is almost guaranteed a waste depending on what ur doing, psu is too, and gpu isn't going too far in games, also have you looked at newegg.com?

I play alot of MMO. Nothing serious that requires a strong graphics card. I can always upgrade it later if need be. And i think i will go with that power supply u suggested. Thanks

i dont see anything wrong with a i7 2600k as far as price goes...now if it was 500 bucks..ok maybe but 300 dollars on a cpu that will last a while through several gpu's possibly, thats a good buy.

I know its a fast Cpu. But i dont mind. I prob wont even need something that fast. But this way i dont have to switch it in a year or 2. As for the PSU i am going to go with the one suggested in the post above. That was the only thing i was not sure about. I was not sure what kind or how much power i needed. Also. What GPU would u suggest. This one should run almost anything i want to play. I have my PS3 for CoD and other games

well the only thing the i7 has over the i5 is it tries to be 8 cores with only 4, it has the information threads of 8 cores but only 4 cores, while the i5 has 4 cores and 4 threads, but only en and decoding and video creation know how to use those cores, and not much else will for a while. if you go to the i5 i'd also say to put that money to a nicer case, cooler master haf's and lian li's are some of the best ones with lower end models. also z68 is only bette than p67 for ssd's and using the intel hd gpu, otherwise the p67 with the same stuff might be a little cheaper and the same for you.

what screen rez do you plan to run at? if you plan to stick around 1920x1080, nothing more than a 560Ti would be needed, anything past, id say a 570 or 580 GTX from nvidia or a radeon 6950 would be a good idea. else, id say a 6870 would be (about?) equivalent to a 560Ti

Z68 offers encoding acceleration using the integrated gpu while using the dedicated card, offers SRT tech for caching as well as having better support for harddrives such as the new 3TB capacity drives. i highly recommend the z68 board for current generation sandy bridge chips due to the SRT tech alone. people will contest this saying you should just grab a bigger ssd and install there, but its a good alternative for people that dont want to spend cash on a huge (abeit small in comparison to mechanical drives) ssd.

and 8 threads CAN be useful, espically if your doing programming or decoding of things, i know VS studio 2010 can use all 8 threads to decode a project at once in parallel, however it will take a ton of ram mind you, but it CAN use those threads, just you would have to have a application for them, elsewise you may want to stick with the i5 series chips if you are trying to save some money.

i said that about en and decoding things and most video software use the 8 cores, but not much else. and for the gpu he only needs that high stuff to be maxing mmo's out at high res, the one he picked will do fine on lower res or do high res with lower details and shading
