If the cover is that much noticeable then I would have to say that there was no cover on my heatsink.
There should of been, a plastic cover over the bottom? Was there not, Was there paste on it?

We didn't even took a look at the base of heatsink wether there is anything or not.As this was my first time assembling a comp and my fren did assemled before but never with C2D.
And another thing, should I enable the warnings of temp for CPU and fan in the bios? They are disable by default.
Yah but is it even possible to to mount the heatsink with that thing on it? I mean I could see accidently leaving it on if it was one of those stickers you get on the bottom of aftermarket heatsinks but if the cover looks the way I think it does there's no way you could leave it on.thats what i was on about guys lol.On mine there was a plastic cover over the thermal compound if that's what you mean, I just took it off though./
the cover you remove off the thermal compound before you install the heatsink.

Unless your temps are unusually high or you are going to overclock it I wouldn't be too worried about it.
But that cover was painfully obvious right, it wasn't like a little clear plastic sticker over the bottom was it?
It could just be your CPU isn't quite idle in the BIOS, even 43 isn't too bad. What does it hit under load?
