ok so now i know that the win 7 32 bit software will not recognize over 3GB of ram, how do i find out if my hp probook 6455b will run win 7 64bit so i can take advantage of the 8GB i have installed?
Here is a link to your notebookok thank you, I will give it a try
There's also some 64-bit only programs out there. And some of those programs run faster than their x86 counterparts, like Waterfox for example, a 64-bit version of Firefox.Unless you have 4+ gig of ram, there is no real advantage of 64 bit windows, I would recommend it if you had 8 gig of ram, but anything around 4 gigs, its a rather pointless. There is no performance improvement with 64 bit windows, just allows you to use more memory.

I believe that your laptop only holds 4 gigs or ram, you can run 64bit, but you will not notice any difference, it just might run even slower..
If you bods cared to read his other post networkcommand has already installed 8GB ram on his notebook which is running a 32 bit OS....
He is now wants to get full use of it....
