Short answer: I have no idea.
I was switching things around in the BIOS to install win10 on my shiny new SSD. After a reboot, it gave me a blank screen with a flashing LED light. No beeps, no post. Nothing. The guy at the computer shop says that the memory controller died. But honestly, it could have been any tiny little thing on the motherboard that suffered. I've tried troubleshooting the problem online, but alas I lack the experience.
But, it doesn't matter anyways. The little stinker has been giving me headaches for a long time.
A reread would lead me to believe you're right.I think hes talking about his old asus board with intel i3 cpu
Yup I cant read. Never mind. What's brand new? I'm talking about my old P8H61-MX. Sorry if I took down my old sig too fast.
But the motherboard is way past its warranty (3 years) and I've has this thing for 4 years.
I wouldn't trust that shop for anything, the IMC is part of the CPU on modern platforms. The guy at the computer shop says that the memory controller died.

The IMC is pretty goddamn robust on Intel chips. Just sayin...
Was gonna say, that sounds like a tech talking out of his ass.I wouldn't trust that shop for anything, the IMC is part of the CPU on modern platforms.
