cant see videos?!?!

Try this:
Go into Windows Media Player, click on Tools -> Options. Under the 'Player' tab, tick the box that says 'Connect to the Internet (Overrides other commands)'. Click OK and try playing the files now.

I have had this problem before. All i did was do a search for Windows Media player in google and got an update downloaded. Worked fine then.

Have you tried this or am I talking nonsense

dang...i upgraded my media player and d/l the codec pack but still cant see....
also its not only videos from the interent but also videos i try to play thats already in my comp... i even try to play on winamp but still cant see anything..
and it cant be my anti virus or anything b/c when i go to ifilm and just select quicktime as my video player it works just not windows...

well the ones i try to watch over the internet are mostly .wma's and the ones in my comp im not to sure b/c it doesnt have any of those .wma or w/e. i check thier properties and it just says that they are video file or movie file...
