Hi,
I have a new Dell desktop with windows 7. I don't know if I have a problem or if this is normal. both drives (model #'s I believe are BH30N and GH50N from device manager) seem picky about burning. I've never had to format a cd before when putting pictures on a disc, before this computer. I thought that was automatic when adding files to a new blank cd. Sometimes I'll get an error stating "invalid MS-dos function," sometimes it seems to recognize a disc and sometimes not until after formatting. It will tell me to insert a blank writable disc when there is one already inserted. Formatting the cd let it be recognized when I tried that last night. I haven't narrowed down if anything is constant depending on if I'm using a cd-r or cd-rw. Seems to happen on both drives. Both device drivers say they are dated 2006, but says I have the latest driver when I search online via device manager. Any help appreciated, maybe this is normal?
