colours on the screen are funny

The colours on the monitor have taken on a pinky tinge, we don't know how it happened or if it is a fault on the flat screne monitor (GER F135) or on the PC. we have windows XP. Any ideas? We do have kids...maybe they fiddled with something? Anyone got an idea?

it could be a number of things

graphics is failing
monitor is failing
graphics overheating

is it onboard graphics or a seperate graphics card?

does your case have good airflow?

I have had issues with new flatscreen monitors that seem to be missing a colour. for example one was missing green and everything had a red tinge to it. another one was missing blue and everything had a green tinge.
If your monitor has an auto adjust feature then run that (usually some buttons on the monitor itself) and see what happens.

If that doesn't help, check the monitor and video card drivers. If everything checks out, it is most likely that your monitor is defective.

It is photoshop that my hubby uses to create images, downloaded onto computer (is this what you mean by onboard?) He often has this programme running for many hours at a stretch. It did happen after a week of transporting the PC and monitor (not unfortunatly a laptop) to and from an art market. Could all this travelling have done some damage? is it likely to be the length of time this programme is running? thanks for your suggestions

The PC currently has good air flow, but didn't when we were on the art market (it was stuffed against a wooden backdrop so only had half the vents open to air). Could this have done permanent damage?

I tried various buttons on monitor to adjust colour, but didn't find one simple way to adjust. Tried a few variations but didn't want to create other probs! I might have another look thanks. The monitor is not new, it suddenly started happening after a week of travelling with it and PC.

By onboard, he means is the video card onboard. As in, when you look at the back of the case, is the video cable plugged in towards the bottom of the case
or more on the side? Sounds to me like it's the monitor.
Do you have a spare monitor laying around you could see if it produces the same image?

Sometimes a knock could make the monitor faulty.
with the buttons on the monitor, see if you can restore the factory settings, that may get rid of any problems.
