complete rip offs

that makes me think of something tough.. If you had a pc problem,. and a girl would help you in a shop.. would you trust her diagnosis? =o

s'okay, I'd only trust Arch, she's the Computer Goddess :P

other then that, I guess she does make a small point... girls are over stereotyped

You;ve got to be kidding me! Man, I even check the computer in front of them...why the heck are they wanting money and all that? The one with the $275 one...that's a pure lie and he's only wanting money. Although...the way he talks...I wouldn't trust him.

lol, i like the one where they tell him that the jumpers are set wrong, basically making it sound like it was more complicated then it really was

the one legit one that fixed it for free, seemed OK in my book

best buy-that's terrible

then the guy wants to make some money for his business, $275? your kidding!

Hell, I only charge $50 (plus cost of parts obviously) when I BUILD an entire computer for people....I fix em for free.

yea the 275 guy. wat a money hungry beast. and u saw how he tried to contionously interupt the reporter. LOL. sigh.. ppl make me sad...i wanna burn his computer store.

You guys could stand to watch that video... Man with the audio that far off, I can't watch it! But either way, I know the rip people off. Just today I went to help someone. They said Geek Squad wanted $75 to reload windows. I have no clue if that included drivers and all. Realize my friend had 98 and you all know how that is about drivers :P

Plus, I worked at a computer shop. I just had to do what my boss said, and normally didn't even hear the prices. Though one time, I did over-hear him. "We had to purchase a new custom power supply for your case, so that'll be $80 plus labor" The case was small, but I managed to get a standard used PSU in it. If I'd of known he'd charge him like that, I would of just said the standard wouldn't work so he would get another. That was at least the customer got a new one...

Well, you can charge whatever you like and as long as the customer gives the OK to replace a good part in the case of a misdiagnosis that's fine too. The thing that is supposed to keep you honest is reputation. If you make very few mistakes and have good prices people are more likely to let a mistake slide.

Wow, that was rediculous. Think how much they would charge if there was a dead mobo battery
:D

Yeah thats realy bad...However i do like the last one (Bmi computers)when he quotes her $275 lol and when the reporter goes in he changes his story:D

He's probably afraid of her using femnine wiles to trick him into buying a bunch of stuff he doesn't need :P

lol,.. yea probably :P

But,. the thing i really liked about the video tough.. the shop that did it for free because it was only so few work. I cencerely liked that one,.. and tbh, it gives a bit of hope in pc repair shop's, no? :)
