CompUSA going down in my area :)

So, with Best Buy and Circuit City, compusa has had trouble keeping up around here. One by me is closing. It is only 30% off most right now, but I have already got some great deals.
Got a case originally sold for $40 for $15 (30% + it was a floor model), Picked up a 200 pack of pc screws in a nice little case for 2.50 (50% off :) ) All the fans and cooling were 30% off so I picked up 2 80mm fans and 2 120mm fans. My case is pretty decent for being a compusa brand. Omega, you fan controller is finally being put to good use.

The case has 2 exhaust in the back, 2 intake in the front, and a intake/exhaust on the side, and I plan to add a 120mm blowhole fan on the top. (watch out for my guide in the computer case sections ;) )

Once they drop down to 50%, I am in there taking whatever is left, lol. Maybe one of those 4000 X2 cpu's will be 50% off, down to a reasonable price ($40 lol) and that would be a great upgrade.

Sad to see one of the only local pc parts stores going, but its awesome right now.
 
Yeah, post a list of what they have when it's 50% off, and I would be willing to buy some stuff and give you a little extra for your effort too. I'd be looking at RAM, larger hard drives, DVD burners and graphics cards if they have any left.
 
Yeah all the compusa locations is St Louis are closing as well. Im going to visit the location near my house this week and see how the prices are.
 
yeah, one by me is closing to. And the other one in the far suburb is going out to, i was out there getting airsoft stuff.


Iam going there tomorrow to check some stuff out.
 
Wow I have to get out more often and see what's closing near me. I remember seeing that a gaming store had closed and I was disappointed that I wasn't there to get the sweet deals.

PohTayToez-a lot of the RAM is gone, what do you need? I saw some DDR2 there today, some sdram if you want that :D .
Hard drives are a plenty, not sure about GPU's, not quite sure when it is going down to 50% off, hopefully soon.
 
Could you get me some prices on 200GB+ SATAs? The bigger the better. I'm also looking for a book on A+ certification if they have one too.
 
The compusa already went down near me. Unfortunately I am not able to drive so I wasnt able to go down and check out the deals (although I heard they started going crazy low).

If there is a third x2, I call it! ($40 is crazy though, more like $60/$70)
Or any other good deal on a c2d AND mobo...
Or ram (like 1gig of xms ddr for $50)
Or a gpu (8800 for $100)
Or hard drive (500gig for $50)
Or power supply and case

What...I can dream.
 
lol I guess a lot of people want good deals.
Once they go to like 50%, the going to be going crazy fast. I don't want to buy this crap and get stuck with it either. At this point, I would like a little money for doing this too, if it happens.
 
Anything you think could make some decent money on eBay buy, and I'll pay you back plus extra. I don't think you'd have trouble getting rid of new 50% off computer parts around here.

EDIT: Just checked, yes its totally going down in omaha and my parents are in omaha!

maybe i can get them to buy me a cheap AM2 mobo, cpu, ram and dvd burner.......then i can have a sub $200 PC that isn't too bad......all i need is a hdd (already have) a psu (easy to get off of newegg) gpu (newegg again) and some extras

Alright, Ill shorten my list a little bit. If they have a third x2, for $40, ill take it and pay extra+shipping. :)

(In the off chance of an 8800 being $50 Ill take that instead. :P)

But thats all I want, I swear.
 
Well when it goes to 50%, I will go in, and get a list.
The chance of there being 3 X2's left, lol very slim. But there might be one for me :D
