Computer died! Help!

OK, let me just start by saying that I've just upgraded my system to the Pentium D from one of my previous post.

Alright. I installed my new processor w/ the heat sink + fan successfully. Then I enabled the "SMART Fan Control" in the system BIOS. When Windows loaded I decided to test my new configuration by playing UT2003. I probably was playing for about 10 min. and that's when everything cut off...

So I tried to press the power switch but nothing happened:(. I unplugged the computer and plugged it back in, and I noticed that the lights on the network jack were also off which are normally on when the net cable is hooked up. Tried pressing the power button again but nothing:confused:

Could this be my PSU that went out, and if it is how could I test to make sure???

My configuration is below in my sig (haven't had time to change it yet) the celeron is a pentium D 925 3GHz, My mobo is an ECS P4800PRO-M...

Thanks for any help

PSU blew... an fuse or itself up... or the Mobo decided to die. What can you expect outta an cheap ECS motherboard?

The fuse in the PSU is blown as I took the cover off of it (which is kind of dangerous I know). The damn thing is soldered to the circuit board so it's kind of impossible to replace...

So if the fuse blew, dose that mean I was demanding to much current? Would of it damaged my mobo in anyway?

Thanks again for any help...

What psu is it? sounds like the psu died, for that rig you should be able to get a decent power supply for a replacement for near nothing..

The PSU is the cheepo one that came with the computer case. It's a no-name PSU. It says 430W on the side in big blue letters (I'm guessing that's the wattage)

How many watts do you think I should have for my configuration?

You have not posted your configuration ;)

An case 430W will probably die within an few months at half load... they're made to attact people... Case PSU said it all. Dump that and get an quality PSU.

Oh sorry :o here's my config:

ECS P4M800-Pro MOBO
Pentium D 925
AGP Nvidia GeForce 7600
2x DDR 2700 512 MB Ram
250 GB SATA Segate HD
let's see here: 2 Disc Drives, 1 floppy drive, 1 case fan, 1 CPU fan that's about all I can think of now.

Will another 430 watt PSU be fine or should I get to at least 500 watts?
