I was just saying if he cannot convince his mom to not spend $800, at least built her a computer to her needs.

Oh, right... thing is, besides the RAM, I'm not exactly sure what you would want a lot of for photo editing.

Hm yeah, depends on how serious she is. He'd probably want a mid range graphics card for some high res. quality displays. Maybe a fast dual core processor as Photoshop can actually utilize it. And just some odds and ends to make the computer look and sound better.

alright. i bought the rig just now.

q9650 (i will be switching it with my e8400)
same mobo as my sig
4gb ddr800 (gskill)
hd 3870
1tb data hd
74gb raptor (os)
600 watt ocz psu
dvd burner and card reader
and some thermal compound for the cpu swap

pretty stoked to get that q9650 in my rig. il b getting gta IV soon after i think....

and i also got osx running on my sig rig. stoked to be dual booting xp and leopard as well
