actually, there is nothing illegal about copying a friend's disk or something like that. you can even download it, as long as you have a legit CD key
well, i am having a tough time finding support for my argument, but i am still pretty sure you can install a game off of another CD as long as you have your own, legal CD key. can you find documentation otherwise? i am just curious

Not true. Look up the laws. It is perfectly legal to copy it as long as it stays in your possession. No giving, lending, selling, uploading to the internet, etc. However, the RIAA is attempting to make this illegal too with limiting things such as Itunes songs to a certain number of devices, and things like that.zaroba said:its somewhat recent copyright laws (recent as in within the past few years)

any type of media change or replication violates the copyright.
