I have this problem that started to appear recently (1-2 months). The case is if i use PC normally evertying is fine but if i start a game like "crysis" or any other 3d game "COD, serious sam, etc... " the computer will just shut itself down in a instant.
Sometimes the game can run for 1 hour or more and there will be no problems but lots of the times the PC will shutdown before i could even get in the main menu (this happened in crysis - where the GPU started getting more stressed).
...
The thing is also that i hear a funny high frequency sound from my PC when the GPU starts to work more - meaning if i start a game.
...
First i thought it was PSU. So i've changed it from 550W to the new 750W.
Then the problem was still there and i changed GPU from "nvidia 9800gtx+" to new "nvidia 285gt". But the problem is still here.
I also checked for temperatures of CPU and GPU.
-CPU was at 55 degress celsius at full load.
-GPU was at 70 - 75.
Also for the aditional tests i used prime95 and orthos for CPU and RAM.
All the tests passed, no problems... and if i ran 3d mark ventage for my GPU there are no problems.
Just to mention nothing is overclocked and there is no malware or viruses on the PC.
................................
I have no ideas more what could i do. Could my MB(asus striker extreme) be the reason for all of this?
And whats the difference if i play a game or do all those stress tests and while doing stress test everything is or seems fine but if i play a game this strange thing happens?
