So I turned my PC on this morning and after the initial motherboard splash screen, while it usually checks for how many devices are connected and I froze there for a while, much much longer than usual. It then continued with the usual bootup sequence and again took much much longer than usual on the windows startup screen.... This could be down to general clutter within the PC but I have an OCZ vertex 4 SSD so unless its faulty, I don't see how that's possible?
The SSD is just one partition for the OS and is only about half full so its performance isn't being drained because of that. I have fully up to date drivers too so I really don't understand!
Im currently using my PC to write this and it seems fine while its on, no real performance losses that I notice anyway.. Except the games ive tried wont load but I don't know whether that's related or not!
So after it booted I defragmented and scanned and deleted and cleaned and the startup is now much quicker (though, it still isn't quite as fast I don't think). The only issue now, is that it takes soooooo long to shutdown, where as previously my SSD could shutdown in an instant.
So is it malware or malfunction? What should I do?
Thanks in advance, guys.
