Computer Vs. Console

I know about the processors, but I played the COD2 on the 360 at bestbuy and it looked like the medium settings on the PC. I laughed.

Are you serious>? i saw a 23" HDTV from far and thought it was a movie playing, i then went up to it and noticed it was xbox 360 on hdtv with COD2 playing....doesnt seem like medium graphics to me.

This of course is opinion but I think there are many console titles that are very good that never come out on PC. I don't play console games but did at one point in my life. I think also that console controllers can be decent. I especially like the playstation controller. I bought the Logitech Rumblepad2 because it looks and feels almost identical to the playstations controller. Here is a link http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2225,CONTENTID=8674 I highly recommend this controller for its plug and play ability... It just plain works with many games with little to no effort at all.

If You Love PS2 Controllers Get One Of These Clicky

I Have One And Its Brilliant:D

Upgardable gfx. cards, processors. YOu cant upgrade the internal components of a console can you?

No but you said they get better with age ;). This is to imply without upgrades. For example your graphics card does not get better with age... This is why you suggest you upgrade... Your CPU, same thing. So you see computers don't get better with age. They actually fall apart :P. Then you put em back together with different components. hehe.

Ok ok, but you get what Im saying??

BTW P11- do you have COD 2?? If you do, then you probably havent seen it on high since you got a 9600XT. My friend has an X850XTPE, and COD2 on full gfx. looks awesome.

im sure there is a big difference in the quality of a display tv and that of hdtv.:)

Yes i did, i went over to a friends house...he has a 7800GTX and it does look amazing but not as nice as xbox 360 on HDTV.

And how many people can afford HD?? I know I cant, so I have just my monitor as my HD.:D :P But yeah, HDTV enhances the quality so it is much greater.

Well, i have decided to purchase HDTV for the purpose of Xbox 360 and the future of TV. I am buying a 23" Samsung screen with a 3000:1 contrast ratio (Best HDTV quality) that also has a pc connector. So now i will have a 23" HDTV Samsung screen for my xbox 360 and a new 23" Samsung Computer Screen, o and i forgot to mention HDTV TV in general :) All for the price of $859 USD

Consoles will always be behind.

It's funny, consoles that are being made today are compared to today's PC graphics cards. They might be better than today's PC graphics for a short while...but with the release of yet another line of cards from nVidia and ATi, console graphics will be left in the dust.

You can compare them all you want, but the main losing point for the console is upgradability. They can remain "the best looking" for a short while, but then the PC (yet again) graces past them with a new line of performance cards. You're stuck with a console for another 1-3yrs, and then you repeat the cycle.

My overall conclusion; consoles win the short battle, but PC's win the long war. If you want overall "best looking" graphics, stick with a PC.

they only good thing about consoles is the games that are only for it thats the only reson im getting the ps3

ex. socom, gran tursimo, metal gear(its better on console), and many more

Depends

I must agree with the majority that PC is better because you can upgrade. But these upgrades will eventually be nessecary and cost you more money. Because a console cant upgrade (very much at least.), you will be able to play all xbox 360 games on your xbox 306. You can see this as good or bad. If you have lots of cash, the PC being upgradeable would be good because your games will keep looking better and better. If your lacking in cash, the console not being able to upgrade would be good for you because you could play all games ever made for that console without upgrading.

I also think that it depends on how you will be playing the games. Not very many good PC games let you sit next to your friend (without 2 computers) and yell at him in person when he beats you. A console will.

Does that make sense? Sorry if it doesnt, I'm really tired. Ill check it tommarow.

Too true, to play with friends on a game with PC's they will most likely have to bring their computer and have a LAN. While LAN's are fun, they aren't as easy as simply pluggin in 4 controllers into a console and fragging it up with your buddies.

It's an inconvenience I'm willing to live with, but others find it too big of a hastle.

have you guys seen the demo for Killzone on the ps3? if people say thats renderd and it turns out thats actually game play, then it would mean the graphix of a console has just matched the graphix of computers!!!! The graphix of the ps3 will only get better with age, as game makers bring out the full potential of the console. For example when the ps2 launched, the games looked just as good as the ps1 and look at the ps2 games now. they are even better than b4 and still getting better. and the cell processor in the ps3 sounds soo amazing and it sounds better than a pc CPU. more on cell processor in this thread http://www.computerforum.com/showthread.php?t=26918
It seems consoles are just cheap pc's too me. now i love pc's and will always prefer pc to console.
also need more facts on y the pc or console is better..
does ps3 and 360 have AA?
will games on console have HDR?
do console games need HDR if they are played on HDTV?
the consoles can almost do everything a pc can. right?
i mean 360 might be able to use a keyboard so it can play rts's and you can buy and sell stuff over xbox live like ebay. and ps3 can even burn cd's and dvd's.

I would say PC over console, because PC's performance seriously outclasses any console. Altho now that the PS3 and the Xbox 360 are being released, they are smoking all but the most serious rigs, and they cost less then 25% of what it would cost you to build up a desktop that strong. Actually I'm not sure if you could realisticly build up a PC to hang with the PS3. You could probably hang with the Xbox 360, but it wouldn't be cheap

Besides, these consoles are now coming with full networking capability and hard drives. They are pretty much PC's in a box. All you need to do is wait for a hack to let you install linux on it and you have a $400 desktop that will smoke everything under the sun.
