Connecting a switch to a switch?

eh, im trying to move back into IT supervisor role, which means I dont need to keep up to speed with the latest and greatest. jUst need to know how to get things rolling in the right direction and hire the right techs to get the job done. btw, sounds like you work for chevron, they are hp all the way

haha, nope I work in the educational sector. I like having my winter break, spring break, and summer hours (I don't get summers off).

Yeah management is different. My bosses always come to us for help or questions. You need to manage, but then it depends on which end of management you get into.

funny, i worked at a charter school for a year. i dont think i'll go back to pub ed sector....like you, i didnt get the summer off and the pay was lousy for being the "technology specialist"

my pay is decent, and its getting better. Got over $8k in raises since I started there 2 years ago. But I do side work consulting and working IT for small businesses and get to charge an hourly contract rate and write off expenses for tax stuff (I have an accountant that does all that for me).

I do get 15 sick days per a year, 2 personal days and 12 days of vacation plus every holiday off and all the school breaks. I like that.

yeh, they gave me $5k raise within two months to keep me, but i still left after one year. i do the same, consult on the side for a hefty rate ;) btw, i think this is my 100th post yay. going home. selling stuff tomorrow!

you two are having a nice conversation lol.. Im a computer systems security student at university.


All i wanted to know is could i attatch two switches in parrallel with out colishion problems, but i think you have answered this. I m not networking my whole town together lol :p

Im still unsure if i should link the two switches together with straight through or crossover cables though.
