hi i am building a gaming pc and i want to know wich is best cpu i dont want
to overclock my choices of cpu are
intel core duo e6600 conroe 2.40 ghz
or the
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5000+ 2.60GHz
the only thing with the conroe thats confusing is which mobo is compatable
if the specs on the mobo say core duo ready will a conroe be compatable
also i dont feel comfy overclocking so i will run the cpu at stock speeds
 
WHAT?Go with amd.

I dont think you know what your saying.A core 2 duo E6400 smokes the fx62.

I have a core 2 duo e6600 overclocked to 2.88.I get almost better marks then the conroe extreme.
 
Conroe. It hands down beats the AMD line depending on which you get. I was JUST about to purchase an A64 5000+ when I was advised to go for the E6600 here - and now looking at the reviews, I'm glad I am!

Definetly conroe, as to your question about motherboard. Just look on newegg for motherboards that are compatible with Core 2 duo, do not just buy any socket T motherboards and expect it to work.

Go with Conroe, there is absolutely no doubt about it.

Also, Conroe is a name of a CPU, not a company like AMD ;)

Put it in the test then. Starting with super pi.. Show your cpu-z when you use super pi . then test it in 3dmark06 and see what cpu score you get.:D and compare that to conroe E6400:D
 
WTF was that????? I got hypnotized and watched that for like,.......an Hour! What a way to make a statement....
