Constant lag in games.

Hey, this is my first time posting here and I hope I have put this in the right topic.

Whenever I play any sort of computer game, regardless of it's requirements, I always need to put the visual settings at lowest possible and still achieve only 5-7fps at high moments. My friends have told me that it might be a visual lag and the issue is my video card, but then I'm not sure what video card I should even buy to replace it!

So here's all the specs of my computer, and if anyone knows that would be nice:






 
Its your graphics,You need a dedicated card realy to play games decently.
You might need a new Psu aswell though if you upgrade to a dedicated card.

Your ram and hard drive speeds are not all that great either,But your major bottleneck is your graphics without a doubt :)

What games are you trying to play?
 
Well Left 4 dead 2 right now, but I'd like to play games that are out.

So what video cards would you recommend I buy? One that my computer can hold, and one I can physically enter a store to purchase.
If I have to upgrade anything else, then I'll see if I can get that as well but I can't afford 500 dollar replacements as of yet :(.

Well it depends,Whats your max budget...what currency US? AUS? UK?

Do you know what power supply your system currently has?

and what other games would you like to play with a new card.

Most likely you'll need a new power supply, and graphics card as stated.

You can get a good quality power supply for about $50 and almost any dedicated graphics card will be better than what you have, but you can get something decent that will play most games for $75-100.
 
If you're just a casual gamer, and want the latest technology without the price tag look for an Ati HD 5750 card. They perform at about the level of a 4850.
