hey,

just wondering if any one has had/tried/read about this combination. i have just purchased these and 5 more fans to fill the 9 120mm gaps. im a little bit worried that the heatsink wont fit into the case. the reason is say this is because the heatsink itself is 16cm high while the case is only 25cm wide. i have 9cm to clear the fans on the side panel + the space between the mobo and mobo tray + the thickness of the mobo and cpu together....

The Stacker is big enough for just about any aftermarket cooler and still have plenty of room, so you're ok because the board and CPU are only raised about 2cm from the board and fans are generally about an inch deep.

ok cheers buddy,
thanks for the comforting info lol, im looking forward to receiving my cooler and case so i can overclock the shit outta my cpu hehe.

price doesn't really bother me too much, as long as i know its gonna do a good job and keep my high end system cooler....

i think the total for the Case (CM 830 evo stacker), Heatsink (thermalright ultra 120 eXtreme) + Fan (sycthe S-Flex 120mm), and 5 noctua case fans (34.5CFM/8dba) and the HDD (500gb SATA2 WD). comes to around AU$1000 bucks i think. well very close to it.

well i received the heatsink and case yesterday... i highly doubt the heatsink i purchased will fit in most cases. i had to remove on of the fans from the side panel to allow for the heatsink to fit it lol, and still has about 1mm room between the side panel and the heatsink.

so i dont recommend this heatsink if you have a case less wide than the CM stacker 830....

i checked the temperatures in the bios for the cpu and idle on 3ghz with the E6600 was like 18*C lol. hehe cant wait to see these overclocks....
