when does the core duo 2 come out?
The Core Duo's are in most notebooks.Jame$ said:The current Core Duo's haven't even hit saturation yet, why so soon? I thought Intel would want everyone (who actually would) to upgrade now, and then again in 9 - 12 months.
Whats the performance difference from the current version?
thats in the Core architecture, i was under the impression that they had improved the FPUs for conroe (Core 2)Cromewell said:The only problem Core suffers from is the FPU is rather slow (Netburst has this problem as well, so intel added some 2x speed FPUs). For most things core is very good, for floating point its average.
YES!!! look at the performance charts, it pwns the fx62!AM2 said:Is core 2 going to be better than the current intels

I think he was just trying to show how much it "pwns" both current Intel and AMD cpu's.mrjack said:Er, what?
The FX-62 processor is an AMD manufactured CPU.
They improved them (a fair bit in SSE) but I think it will still have a weaker FPU engine then the A64sthats in the Core architecture, i was under the impression that they had improved the FPUs for conroe (Core 2)
