Are these any good?

Cooler master v8.(expensive)

Which one is better and why ???

Yea I I know but it's $70 the other one is 55 why should I buy that one? What's so good about it ?

If you were talking to me I would say, the Noctua performs as good as any other 1366 air cooler, comes with 2 Silent 120mm fans, and comes with the
1366 bracket already in the kit.

Take a look at the Xigmatek S1283 dark knight, excellent cooler for the price:

I don't like how there's big gaps between the pipes and the block.

considering that most of the heat transfer takes place through the heatpipies, the design may very well be superior having the pipes directly on the CPU as in that pic. whenever you have extra metal between the things you want to transfer heat to, you get more resistance to the transfer, resulting in a higher temperature difference (ie the processor is warmer)

Yeah same because I think one of the problems you'll get with that is that your thermal paste will go through the cracks and you wont have any on your cpu.

That's not what I'm concerned about.
My point is that there are Gaps between the Pipes and the Block, as shown in my illustration.

You'd have no choice but to spread your TIM first. It may work well, but not for me.

Lol, the s1283 is one of the bost popular and best rated coolers sold in the last year. All you need to do is just put a line on the cpu going up/down(as thats how the cores are alighed) about the size of a grain of rice, and put the cooler on. Some people put some TIM between the aluminum and heatpipes, but tha ts not really necessary..
