Same problem is killing me too.My C2D E6300 @1.86 idle temp was 40*C but now it remains at 35-37*C.Mine case also don't have fans.The problem is do I have to remove anyting from heatsink before i install it?Coz I remember I haven't removed anything from it while installing it.My fan doesn't go higher than 26xx.Till date my highest temp under load was 47*C while I was riping a DVD.I use easytune 5 which comes bundle with gigabyte mobo and PC wizard to measure the temp.And I am haven't put any extra TP on it and still using the stock one.
