So I got my new FX 6100, updated my BIOS to F5, (up-to-date) cleared CMOS, and went into M.I.T. in BIOS. I have the following features disabled:
Core Performance boost
AMD C1E Support
AMD C6 Support
Virtualization
AMD K8 Cool&Quiet Control
AMD APM Master Mode
I changed the CPU voltage control under MIT to 1.40v. Bumped up the multiplier to 4ghz. Went to PC health status and it said my Vcore was at 1.34v. I booted into windows and started Prime95. CPU-z and HWmonitor both reported the voltage at 1.34v. At 4.1ghz, it gave an error.
Based on that, I've concluded that MIT is showing the voltage wrong. Am I right to conclude that or am I in danger of frying my chip? I emailed both AMD and Gigabyte and am waiting for their reply.
Thanks!
