CPU voltage issues

So I got my new FX 6100, updated my BIOS to F5, (up-to-date) cleared CMOS, and went into M.I.T. in BIOS. I have the following features disabled:

Core Performance boost
AMD C1E Support
AMD C6 Support
Virtualization
AMD K8 Cool&Quiet Control
AMD APM Master Mode

I changed the CPU voltage control under MIT to 1.40v. Bumped up the multiplier to 4ghz. Went to PC health status and it said my Vcore was at 1.34v. I booted into windows and started Prime95. CPU-z and HWmonitor both reported the voltage at 1.34v. At 4.1ghz, it gave an error.

Based on that, I've concluded that MIT is showing the voltage wrong. Am I right to conclude that or am I in danger of frying my chip? I emailed both AMD and Gigabyte and am waiting for their reply.

Thanks!

I'd put everything back to stock speeds until you get a response from AMD or Gigabyte if you think you're going to ruin your CPU, just to be on the safe side.

Odd that you have 1.4v and yet your PC Health Status reckons it's at 1.34v, you sure the voltage is not on auto or anything?

No, M.I.T. is the section in Gigabyte's BIOS. Everything overclocked is from BIOS.

And that's the thing, this chip should not need that much voltage for that low of an overclock. Stranglehold got to 4.5ghz on 1.375v or so with a 6100 and same board. I know all chips aren't the same, but getting .5ghz higher on .225 less voltage seems inaccurate.

Just to be clear, under MIT, where the multiplier and voltage control is in the BIOS, says 1.40v for the CPU. PC health status section in BIOS, where it says the temps and voltage, says 1.34v, along with CPU-z and HWmonitor.

And my temps are maxing out at 35c.

Hey, you edited your post!

But no, its not on auto since I have to change it to manual to bump up the voltage.
