Just wondering how many are looking forward to this title?

Check out the "Crysis Gameplay Movie 1" the best visuals to date I'd say. Makes "F.E.A.R." Look like crap in my opinion.

Oh for those that don't know... It's the sequel to FarCry.

Actually look at the "Crysis Official Trailer 1" It's the same as the first but much better quality.

I actually heard that Crysis wasn't a sequel. It's supposed to be a similar game, but not a sequel. Unless I heard wrong.
 
LOL not a sequel.. Thanks for the correction... I actualy wondered that but figured it prob. where... My bad for breaking my own rule on assumption. Anyhow thanks again for the correction.

It's still a frigging fantastic looking title though eh? I loved the jungle on the island theme of farcry and this looks to take part in the same enviroment with twice the visuals :). Cannot wait.

I enjoyed playing far cry but it is ashame that when i play it the floor is all black :( so ive stopped playing it. Patches never fixed it!

Anyway this game looks awsome
 
It was that way with your current setup? I remembered having large area's that where black like you described but patches fixed it. It quickly became one of my all time favorites.
 
Mat2137, if you don't have Far Cry installed I suggest you do that, patch the game to the latest and upgrade your drivers (atleast video card drivers). Things might be different. Though some say that the game works best on an older version, like 1.2 instead of 1.33.
 
I loved the jungle too. I didnt like how in the middle of the game it became mostly indoor trigen combat, so I'm glad crytek is making it more tactical like the begining of farcry.

You might want to try finding somewhere that would have a patch for SP2. I had an older game that came out before SP2, and most of the game working fine, great and normal except for the in-game videos and I couldn't build 1 unit for only 1 race. Not a big deal, but annoying (favorite unit for favorite race, as luck would have it :); actually the original thing that brought me to the site).

What I did to fix the problem now is after a fresh install/reformat, I didn't install SP2, only SP1 and it fixed those two problems. So again, see if there's a patch specifically for SP2, or just get rid of it (nothing worth keeping it in there anyway, imo...)
 
I'm not really looking forward to this game. If it's as buggy as Farcry has been then it will be crap. Even with all the patches I still get the AI running circles and Helicopters crashing for no reason. Even when the AI move right, they're bumbling idiots. Maybe I got a crap disc or something, but this game just seems worthless.

There should not be a bug that will make the AI run in circles nor make the helicopters crash. That makes no sense at all. Could not possibly do this due to a bad disk either. Artifacts yes, Crashes yes, freezing yes, colors wacky yes, lighting bad yes, I could go on all day :). however there was never a bug with the game that did the things you describe.
