Hi all,
As the topic title suggests, this is about whether or not a desktop can use disproportionate amounts of the internet. Recently one of my housemates has had a desktop delivered. Until this point everyone in the house has been using laptops and apart from my housemate we all still do and the internet has been 99% of the time fine. However since my housemate has had his desktop delivered the internet has seemed slower and less stable than it used to be, which has led to, I believe, the router resetting itself more than once which I have been told can happen if it is struggling with the amount of data travelling through it. Is it coincedence that the internet has appeared laggy and less stable since the desktop arrived or does it genuinely use more bandwidth on a wireless (owing to its size). If the latter is true if there anything I can do about this as it is quite frustrating to say the least or is the only way around this using a LAN cable like I have done on a couple of occasions?
