Hello all.
My desktop is an HP Pavilion Multimedia m7470n, which has 2Gigs of installed Ram - with a max capacity of 4Gigs. Last night, I went out in search of best prices on an additional two sticks of Ram. My pc (according to specs) takes DDR PC-3200 Ram, but 'Best Buy' had a sale on their Kingston DDR PC-2700 sticks (1 Gig/ at $58.99). I questioned compatibility issues, and was informed that there would be none. The only thing would be a slightly lower speed issue, but that would be (I was informed) so little as to be negligible.
I got the Ram installed, and was - quite honestly - a little disappointed. I would have thought that there would have been a noticeable increase in speed, but it is nowhere even near what I expected. Could it be because of the differences in the two sets of Ram? And would it behoove me to return these two, newly purchased, sticks, and just hold off until I can find the PC-3200 sticks on sale? Lastly, are the 'Kingston' brand considered good?
Advanced thanks.
