After looking at boards and getting multiple inputs from various forums, I have come to the conclusion that I might need to use this board:

the only problem is that it does not have dual channel support listed in it's specs. do I really need that?
the reason I'm looking at this board is that it has an AMD chipset (to go with an athlon II quad core), it has a 2600mhz FSB, and it supports DDR3 memory. and I also like that it has 2 PS/2 ports. but I don't really need 4 memory slots, so if I could find another board just like this one, but with dual channel support and maybe another USB port, that would be ideal. any thoughts? are there any board manufacturers to avoid?? thanks again in advance!!
