Basically, dual channel is 128bit access where single channel is 64bit.
You don't have to get the kit, but I'm quite sure you need identical pairs of modules.
And if you want duel channel, you have to keep it in pairs. Though, I've not heard a definet answer if all pairs have to be identical.

I still dont understand what this "identical" and "dual channel" mean.
why cant 2 same branded RAMs with same latency and frequency be identical? , and also run in dual channel mode?
