Dual Monitors-messing up programs

ecently i set up dual monitors on my system. all was going well until i tried running Age of Empires III. Upon startup of the program, i get an error message saying that direct 3d failed to initialize. I know that having dual monitors is part of the cause because it runs fine when i set it up with only one monitor. What could be my problem?

ya the video card does not support dirrect 3d. you may need a new one

What kind of video card are we looking at here? I'm wondering if it's some sort of driver/hardware limitation. I know most when you use duel monitors will simply black out the secondary one... Are you using special software or something?

I am using an evga geforce 8800 640mb, on vista ultimate

Some how I do not think that that is the problem.

You are updated to the most recent drivers, correct?

the only drivers i have for it are the ones that came on the cd.

I know the card supports direct 3d, as i said before, i tested it using only one monitor, and it works fine.
