E2140 @ 3.16GHz (ALMOST 100% OC)

Anyways... I already got a BSOD from... GFX error... and a OC error... (BSOD OC error... never knew there was one).

Have not checked the temperatures yet, but I'm 100% sure it's under 40C. It's using the stock gray thermal paste that came with the Rosewill cooler. It runs great a 3.16GHz... so far. I'm installing XP Pro SP2 right now. Hopefully, it goes through. After that, I'll try OCing a bit more, with +.2V, and a few more on the RAM.

Everything's the same, but now it's pqi Turbo 2GB CL4... :D

Anyways, any tips? I'm looking at the 1333FSB mod, but I need to go back to Victoria to Radio Shack... and I'm not really looking forward to a 4 hour drive back and forth :rolleyes:

So.... any suggestions?
 
Have you actually booted to an OS with 3.16Ghz? If you're just seeing what you can post at, then that's not a stable overclock.
 
Well let's see:

I installed XP Pro SP2 3 times on it (don't ask... not due to crashes BTW)

And, I posted that post from that computer. Now I'm on my 2.8 cause I'm playing BF2 :D
 
Not much. It's a overclocking processor! What can I say? :D

$70 motherboard gets you: HUGE overclocking space, 8 channel sound (:D), and DDR2-1066.

$75 processor gets a great OC :D

And guess what? It's running offa stock thermal paste from a $9 Rosewill cooler. Idles around 37C, haven't checked load yet. A big breeze in that case.

I went cheap with this, and the cheap were quality.

His stock cpu speed is 1.6ghz he reached 3.16ghz. In order for him to get 100% its gotta reach 3.2ghz.

Think of it like money. If you bought something for $10 and sold it for $20 thats 100% profit cause you the $20 covers your cost of $10 and leaves you with $10 to play with.
