E2140 @ 3.16GHz (ALMOST 100% OC)

It's still working. I don't believe in the age myth. I only believe that my processor will last forever with the proper maintaince, ect.

Age myth? You mean "Forever" as in "forever"? :P

There are several reasons overclocking reduces chip life expectancy, metal and temperature fatigue, an increased electromigration rate due to extra voltage and current, a higher chance of electrical field anomalies resulting in undesirable electron allowances, which is another form of "electromigration" that occurs most often in solid state field effect transistors. In other words, a bunch of electromechanically-carried concepts that conspire to ruin our sunny (OC'ed) day.. by engineering esoterically-guised rainclouds.

:D

You failed in math didnt ya :P

His stock cpu speed is 1.6ghz he reached 3.16ghz. In order for him to get 100% its gotta reach 3.2ghz.

Think of it like money. If you bought something for $10 and sold it for $20 thats 100% profit cause you the $20 covers your cost of $10 and leaves you with $10 to play with.

Hi! You seem to have typed some fail, allow me to assist you. Both 200% and 100% are correct estimates.

3.16GHz is a ~100% increase over a stock speed of 1.6GHz.

3.16GHz is also ~200% of 1.6GHz.

If you bought something for $10 and then sold it for $20, you've sold it for 200% of what you paid, which makes for a 100% profit.

To avoid posting more fail in the future, make sure you can see more than one step ahead of you before submitting your reply, thanks!
