Just noticed I could get to 2.1GHz before it crashes... WTF? Is it because my PSU sucks? My mobo stinks at overclocking?!?!? What is it?

It can get a lot higher then that, it's probably the user or motherboard. What motherboard do you have?

Also, have you raised the CPU voltage, RAM voltage, tweaked the RAM timings and speeds, disabled speedstep, etc? Or are you just raising the FSB?

Just raising the clock...

It's pqi DDR2 533 1GB stick of RAM...

Abit IP-95 motherboard...

i had mine at 3ghz for a while. 333x9 at 1.525 v

then i have 350x8 at 2.8ghz with ram oc'd a little

what mobo do u got?

The Abit IP-95 is a VIA-based motherboard. VIA is known for being horrible at overclocking, not to mention the very limited features on the board to tweak.

Abit is a good brand, but it depends a lot more on the chipset.

Damn VIA... so is it an good standard motherboard?

VIA is fine for the average budget board. For the price, VIA-based boards are a good deal, but if you wanted to overclock or do some major tweaks, you shouldn't have gotten a VIA chipset :)

The really only thing I would put a VIA chipset in would be probably a HTPC.. They make Mini-ITX with VIA chipsets... Otherwise, I wouldn't touch them
