So basically im in safe mode right now, if im not in safe mode it keeps flashing black and back to the regular screen again for a second then goes back to black and does this for completely different amounts of time each time.. sometimes never going back completely and just trying to freeze but never quite freezes.
It also shows me a little error in the bottom right corner of the screen that says something along the lines of "display device AMD failed and was recovered" then ill click something else and it will do it again, what do you guys think could cause this? i have my drivers updated and everything.... hmmmmmm

Just download the catalyst software, first link on that page. The driver that is on the cd is an older driver, don't use it.

it might, just an idea. also you can try running the computer without the gpu in it, then download the drivers, then put the gpu back in or plug it in or whatever, then install the drivers. and i'm guessing you haven't tried to overclock the gpu from the bios have you? just i had over overclocked the igpu on this once and it did this sort of thing.

i havent overclocked that i know of.. i dont know how lol.
and without the GPU i have nowhere to plug the monitor into lmao i dont think there is an onboard monitor output

well i got the file downloaded but when the catalyst software comes up its the exact same as whats on the disk.. and it wont install anything through the program just says "driver detection failed" is there any way i can give you my phone number and you can call me and talk over ideas on this? would be much appreciated. in safe mode it takes freakin forever to load this site lol

ok, if the gpu has power sockets then unplug them and see what happens, idk, just saying whatever comes to mind here.

Uninstall the current video driver from either device manager or add/remove programs and then boot to regular mode to install the one I linked you to.

right i just went into the device manager and went ahead and uninstalled it.. gonna try and boot in regular mode and ill let you guys know how it goes.. if that stops the flashing getting rid of that driver then ill install the one you linked.

ok i got rid of that driver.. im in reg mode and its working fine.. gonna instal that link now.

im back in safe mode lol
windows is automatically installing drivers for my card about 3 minutes after startup.. and as soon as it does that.. my screen keeps doing what it was doing.. problems suck... someone needs to call me lmao takes forever to load up anything in safe mode

Go into control panel, into programs and uninstall the ati catalyst software, reboot into normal mode and install the driver I linked you to.

Do a system restore back to right after windows got installed and before you installed the video driver.

ok i literally just booted in regular mode and outran windows in instaling the driver lol.. there is no catalyst software on my computer. and there are no drivers for the GPU. im installing that top link now with no problems. what do i do with it once its installed?
