Guys,
I have an external 160GB Freecom HD which is roughly 2-3 years old and have 20GB left. I have pc with an USB cable attached attached to the back of it so that i can connect to it for ease of use. My PC is custome built and has a Intel Pentium E2200 Dual CPU chip which was originally WinXP but have installed Win 7 Ult recently. Now, when i connect my external HD via my USB cable, for some reason it takes a long time for it to recognise the hardrive, roughly 1 minute i would say. But when i connect it to my Toshiba Laptop which as a core2duo cpu it only takes a matter of seconds roughly 5-10 seconds for it to recognise . Therfore my question is, why does it take such a long time for my PC to recognise my external HD compared to my laptop?
