Hmm.. are connections like T1 offered for home yet? If not, I doubt this will ever reach homes..

Thats a broad statement... Considering a little more than 10 years ago a 56k modem was considered fast!

already have gigabit lan card :D but the thing is how much would it cost when it arrives here lol right now 5mbps is like 40usd per month.

Yeah broad.. but the point is that if T1 isn't offered yet (dunno of this).. and it cost hefty.. then why would this be offered to the home. I'm sure it'll cost more than T1 already.

Don't feel to bad my DAD pays $26 US for his AOL Dial-up. I to wish daily for DSL.

What's the speed of T1? Or is it not rated like other connections? I know I've talked to people who said they had T1 in their home, but they never said any kind of speed. Always people who ran webservers or a host server for some type of game or service though, not just for internet surfing lmao. They may have paid to have it installed to there house, that would have cost a pretty penny.

T1 is 1.5MBPS, MB, not Mb, ALSO a LARGE factor of T1, is it ALSO has 1.5MBPS UP speed. MOST cable lines will have up speeds no more then 100kbps, and thats if your lucky. Good for game servers, and small meduim web servers.

I used to have one, it was shared with a room mate and we hosted a few game servers with it. He moved out, and that went with the 20% discount and him paying half price so i went back to good old cox and 4mbps.

So it's like ADSL (or is it SDSL?) where your up and down are matched.

I believe my upload was ~166kbps the last few speed tests, but its never been over 200. Comcast is what we use.

i got into a conversation with a telewaest guy and he said that people are now using cat5 connections with high speed connections, is this true
