As is said in the other thread of mine...cod is the my all time fave WWII game...moh aa is 2nd and then in 3rd would have to b bf 1942 rtr.

i am really starting to hate internet explorer! it crashed on my right as i was making my poll so now heres yet another poll'less post...o well just tell me ur fav game...is there a way to add a poll after the thread is alrdy made???

Yeah Firefox is the best dude! It hasn't crashed on me in a long time and it can be customized to fit what YOU like best. As far as my favorite WWII game goes, here's the list:

For Atmosphere, I would either go with Call of Duty or Medal of Honor. IMO Call of Duty has better graphics and some of the battles are intense, but Medal of Honor can still compete in terms of graphics with some of the games currently on the market right now (plus the D-Day mission is just inforgettable....one of the best gaming moments for me). HOWEVER, these two games are somewhat too arcadish for my tastes (Gettin pumped full of lead from an MP40 and then loadin up on health packs is not my kinda game.) If they came out with a WWII game that had the atmospshere of CoD or MOH:AA but had the realisim/tactics of a game like Ghost Recon, Rogue Spear, etc. it would blow these out of the water (Brothers in Arms looks promising btw).

As for realism, technical depth, and for people who are OBSESSED with WWII as I am, there is no other game like Battlefront's Combat Mission: Berlin to Barbarossa. This game has good graphics, a WIDE variety of units (hundreds of different troops to chose from, etc.) and an armour system that geeks like me drool over :-D Plus the game play can become hectic, especially if you are commanding 3 squads of German Infantry dug in at a small German village as 10+ T-34 Russian tanks approach from the east, 10 squads of Russian troops from the West and mortar fire every second.......I fought to the very last man lol Highly recommended!!!!!!!! Since I have gotten it, this game hasn't been collecting dust like some of those other WWII games I have

As for flight Simulation, Nothing beats IL-2 Sturmovik. This game has the most realistic flight physics/dynamics ever made for a game. I can attest to this as I have taken a couple of flight lessons and, even though a cessna is far away from a Mig-3, the 'feel' to the game was almost identical to my lesson! It's that realistic. Plus it has good graphics to boot :D

Finally, another great game that just drips with WWII atmosphere is Silent Hunter II. For those who have seen U-571, it has the same kind of atmosphere, suspense, excitement, etc. as the movie! I remember many, many late nights were I was lurking deep below the frigid Atlantic waters stalking a British or American merchant ship, destroyer, etc. And then just as I was about to launch a torpedo, my radio operator hears fast screws bearing 036 degrees about 50 yards away.......builds up for an intense, suspenseful, exciting game IMO!

There ya have it, Eif's Top Picks of WWII :D

There are many other games that I play that deal with WWII and WWI (Day of Defeat, Iron Storm, B-17 II, Combat Flight Sim 2 and 3, BF 1942 (got old after a while....and WAY to unrealistic, but still fun) Deadly Dozen, Deadly Dozen II and MANY MANY more......... Hope that helped ya :-D

I'm looking forward to:

Doom III (not WWII but still looks great!)

www.doom3.com

Silent Hunter IIII (you can actually see the crew members inside the U-Boat walk around!!!) Check out the screenies!

And finally, the one I'm most looking forward to, is Brothers in Arms

Have fun!

How could I have forgotten about Wolfenstein!!!!!!!! Never bought the game, but I still own the original Wolf 3D.....man it brings back great memories :-D btw Medal of Honor Rising Sun seems like a good game, but Console FPS aren't my thing :-(

ive played some a those games with u...combat mission...the demo...alright...silent hunter 2..also alright...and tried il-2 but couldnt get it to work...for all of u that r in2 strategy games...eifs favs r a great choice...but for those of u who would rather get pumped full of bullets...like myself..in action-packed fast paced WWII fps games then i would highly recommend cod...it is the best fps game i have played in a long time. single player was really good but i only play it these days for the unbeatable online action...i would like it if it could b more team based tho...as in using strategy...not like in the birds eye strategy games such as combat mission...but like covering fire and formations...which i know eif loves too.

if u would rather play a more verastile game then i would recommend bf 1942 (any of them). you can not only b an infantry unit as in most WWII fps games but u can also fly planes such as mustangs and drive tanks such as my personal fav...the tiger...no gunner position but who needs one with that beast?!? u can also drive artillery units and jeeps...pretty much any type of vehicle u c u can drive or fly. this games isnt as fast paced tho...its more mellow...but still a good pick! bf is also a really arcady game...which i dont really care about...i mean if its arcady and fun..so wut...but this games physics is off a bit with the guns and where u hit a person...especially with sniper rifles...i can b right on his head and it will miss...could b the distance tho..but im sure im hittin him...or at least whould b! u can also get about 10 bullets put in2 ur torso and still live...which is kinda stupid ...goes for ur enemies too. now dont get me wrong...bf is an absolutley great WWII game...just wish it were a little more realistic...more like cod...which isnt too realsistic itself but its better than bf.

as far as medal of honor goes...it has the strongest single player game i have played in a very long time with WWI games...but the multiplayer is pretty weak...but thats y i ahve cod :) moh is actually a fairly old game as far as computers go...but still a really very good game and still goin strong in my opinion!

now i was never a big flight sim kinda guy...unlike eif who is freakin OBSESSED about planes!!! i have played fs2002 tho and i thot it was kinda fun...plan a flight...get ir trip log and take off...then just kick it in2 auto-pilot set the heading coordinates, fligh alt. and ur speed an sit back and relax as u fly over miles of ocean or over the busy city of new york...cant reall c the business of it but i thot i might throw that in :)...my dad really likes that game...he likes to take off turn around and practice his landings...the game is so accurate he even noticed T6...at port of portland where he worx...of course he didnt c his actual building but he saw the port and everything...that was pretty cool.

to sum everthing up...i really enjoy WWII...and even more recent events such as black hawk down...very fun single player and good multiplayer...just throw me a good fps game and ill b good 4 a while. im really lookin forward to doom 3...which im not gonna get till i get my new computer...but its gonna b hot as hell :)

Hot as hell is right dude! Can't wait! By the way, about fs2002 :-D Viper LOVES action packed games, etc. So flight sims aren't really his thing. For most people, they'd rather watch paint dry than play a flight sim....as Viper pointed out it does get tedious/boring flying over miles of ocean and land lol not much action, but for guys like me who love that kind of thing, we DROOL over these things lol I guess it's also in my blood coz almost everyone on my moms side has their pilots certificate lol. And fs2004 is alos exciting coz i wanna b a pilot, so its good 'practice' :-D...Now all I have to do is get into Embry Riddle :-D

as for il-2, that game ROCKS. If it didn't work the first time, you shoudl try to get it to work again! Nothing compares to flyin in formation with your buds, spotting a flight of Il-2's, swooping down at 300 mph and lettin loose with your .50 cals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The graphics are great and I have seen some pretty amazing special effects (Wings blowing off, engines on fire/smoking.......pilots falling to their deaths.....And the sound is amazing!!!!!!!!! If you fly for the germans, they speak german but it translates it to english. Nothin is better than seeing your wing man go down in flames from 10,000 Feet while he's screaming/cursing in German because his Cockpit latch is stuck and he can't get out.........MAN talk about atmosphere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have that game...its a great game...well, as great as using a console for such a game will allow...i would recommend this game to any fps console fans out there...but u cant beat the pc for any game in my opinion...mayb racing but thats it. btw...moh rs was a pretty easy game...even on hardest...i beat it in a week with little problem...it did take me a while to get use to playing that type a game on console tho...i will never buy another fps console game as long as i live!

ok good i figured out how to make a poll...i really didnt want to waste another good thread on a repeat coz of the poll

I really like Medal of Honor, was hooked on it a way back the version for the PS1.
Would love to spend a few days playing the PS2 version. I didnt like playing the latest version on a PC.

the thing i dont like about consoles is the controls...i like having all the buttons and being able to zip around fast with my mouse and aiming is a lot easier with mouse than the analog stick or even with the buttons. i got really good at it tho really quickly...i guess im that way with all games :D plus i use to b pure console back in the days of nes and in2 supernintendo and even then i was big computer gamer come to think of it...now i only play pc games and maybe a console game every now and then...but when gran turismo 4 comes out i will b playing that like crazy...best racing series ever...need for speed underground was a also a great game!

Not much of an opinion, the only one ive ever tried was Return to Castle Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory ... my roomie plays it a lot and it seems a lot of fun... to slow for me though but a decent game i'd say. :)

that was a pretty good game...it was a free dl off the internet, i havent played it in a verrrry looong time tho...been doing other stuff...mainly playing other games...u should try call of duty of medal of honor (for pc!)

my favorite game would have to be call of duty, medal of honor is another great game, multiplayer is a little differnet from what im used to, but single player is great!

I still love the 2nd mission in the original Medal of Honor...
WOW...

However, i've been keeping an eye on the new Axis and Allies RTS.
Seems very good, have a look for yourself:
