Fingerscanner Problem

Well ive had a fingerprint scannr problem. It says that i have to turn my fingerscanner on. I do not know how to do this and i do not know if it is a hardware problem. Just had the laptop for 3 days and i really need som help.

oh wow.. how much money did you pour into this computer!?

yeah, check driver... aside from that, some fingerprint scanner, like mine, works like 3/10 times...
 
normally it's turned on automatically (as with my sony viao sz 320). there should be a program accessible within the startup programs (lower right hand corner) to turn it on. once turned on you'll be prompted to register your finger(s) if you haven't already. once a finger is registered it should work.

as mentioned earlier make sure the driver for that hardware is installed. if there are no driver issues then double click one of the startup icons to activate the device to start the enrollment procedure.
