I had copied about 12 gigs of photos onto a PNY 16 gig flash drive from a dying computer, and had been able to access the flash drive several times thereafter. Now when I attempt to access the drive, it tells me that it needs formatting. I've done the computer-manage-storage-disk management-error checking without success (again tells me that the disk is not formatted), although it states that the drive is RAW data and healthy. I get the same results on two computers, so I know it's the flash drive. I downloaded a couple of recovery programs (icare recovery and mini-tool power data recovery), both of which did recover the data, but won't let me save it without purchasing the key. Anyone know of a truly free and functional recovery program, or another way to go at this? Thanks in advance!
