It is one of the only times that US doesn't get a game before us in the UK and the rest of Europe, so i am going to 1. discuss it, 2. rub it in your face with the discussion :P

Does anyone have it too yet?

I got it the day before it came out (I love Game and their early delivery) and honestly, oh my god it is amazing!! The cars look and feel so good, the tracks are amazing, and I mean tehre is one, a japanese one (can't remember the name) that is a fictional track and I prefer it to Nordshleif and to Le Mans.

Oh, Le Mans, before i went into the game the first thing i did was go on free play, get in a Pug 908 and go around old le mans. I can't believe how amazing the track is, the car is, everything is.

Your views on it?
 
Only played the demo so far, but am getting the game next week. :) to be honest, cant wait. I hope there's a lot of mainstream cars in the game too.

there are loads in there.

Having had it 3 days in my garage i ahve (more than what i put, can't remember them all :P) Ford Focus, the new 09 shape one, Audi R8, VW Scheroco, BMW M5 and M3, Abarth 500, Corvette Z06, Ferari California.

In the free play and online play though, have been in loads of LMP1 cars, including the new Acura *drool*, and LMP2 and GT1 and 2, they got all sorts of exotica like koenigseg, Bugati Veyron, McLaren F1, Ferari's, Porshe's etc, then they have stuff that you wouldn't expect like Land Rovers and Dodge Ram's and stuff like that, aswell as racing cars from DTM, WRC, FIA GT etc.

There is loads, you won't be disapointed from that perspective i promise you
 
;well, I like that the VW Scirocco is in the game. :) (Also like how they put the VW Corrado VR6 in Forza 2. :D )
Like said, will be getting it next week. I might be rubbish at racing games, doesnt make them less fun to play tough. ^.^
 
And datsun love in the game? I know they had a bit in the first forza, but if this one has it too, it'd be worth picking up to me someday then heh.

Got the game yesterday, and played it a bit. :)

excellent game. except its pretty hard overtaking the npc's in the career. (they drive dirty I tell you.)

also, I find it great the Corrador VR6 is still in the game! :D its also realistic sound wise. when you dont rev the engine over 2k/2.5k rpm, you dont hear it. I find the total feel of the driving to be much better than in Forza 2 even. and they actually managed to give a feel for the speed now, so I dont go straight off in every corner because I'm driving waaaaay too fast. :)

Yea I know what you mean about the AI, much like in Forza 2 they take the line always, even if you manage to come up the inside, they don't give you room they just muscle you off, it is such bad programming from there.

But the rest of the game is just about perfect. Do you find the steering is much better from Forza 2? Now they have made it so that it actually handles properly, you don't lost the back end whenever you go through a corner and you don't need to slap on a wing and put as much downforce on as you can, which I found is what you had to do on Forza 2 otherwise you would lose the back end, unless you were in a proper race car.

Oh, have you also noticed on your HUD when in the car that in most of the cars you get the actual time too :D ?

and yes, I think the handling is bang on in this game.
Granted, I'm comparing the Corrado VR6 to my (moms :P ) Golf 3 VR6, but they react absolutely identical. :)
I also like how the cars finally bounce when you understeer, finally you get some feel for it. (In my golf, the front wheels are telling me when they are sliding or not, finally you get a sense of that in the game too. in forza 2 I had to rely on the sound weither I was going too slow or too fast through a corner, now you actually feel something. :)

the cars do apprear to be a bit more grippier too. I've only played it for a short period yet tough, but it appears to be brilliant.


Now all I want for this game is the Topgear test track as a download, and the game would be perfect. :D (hopefully they do it,... I mean, on the topgear website there was lots of advertizing for F3, so I really, really hope they do! )

Why would you want the topgear test track when you get Le Mans :eek:

Did you get the extra track and car and stuff rom pre order too? There is an awesome expanse of concrete that you can hop in and mess about on :D :D
 
I didnt preorder it... (well, i did, the special edition, but they couldnt get it. so i bought it somewhere else, the normal version.)
the box I bought had 2 disks in it, is that the one you mean? (is there also a version for sale with only 1 disk in the box? )

no all have 2 discs, 1 to install, the other to play.

If you preordered it you got a code for (reads off my card with code)

I personally couldn't justify an extra £20 just for that

I have a card in the box, havnt used it yet tough. (didnt think about it :P )


but, I really want the topgear testrack in the game. (and the Chevrolet Liana :P you can see where this is going, haha. ^_^ that'd just be brilliant. )

about the special edition, me neither, thats why I got the normal one instead. :) when I saw the prices online, I couldn't be bothered looking for it over here.

yea that card is what I am on about :D

And I didn't think about the top gear stuff, that would be pretty cool. You could make your own power lap board too :eek:
 
yes, exacly! so BBC, if you want to make some money, make topgear stuff for Forza 3. :D (if they make it cost like 2100points or so, I'd still get it. :P)
 
my dad bought it yesterday -- it was £9.99 at gamestation if u traded in Need For Speed Shift for it

hes obsessed i wanted to watch X Facter but he was hogging the TV so didnt see it. All i wanted to see was how crap John and edward are gonna be tonite lol :P
 
I doubt that he bought Forza 3 for 10 pound, more likely Forza 2. :)


anyways, I've seen that you can set the shift controls to Auto, Manual or Manual with Clutch... does this mean you can use the G25 with the xbox now? (anyone tried yet? )

He traded in shift for it, gamestation always have a "trade in the most recent game in the same genre and we will sell you the new release in the genre for £10", you can get just about any game at all for £10 if you trade in a certain game for it.

And no you cannot use the g25 on it :( A couple of people on 10 tenths and other forums have tried aaaaaaaaand failed. Tehre is a guy on the forza forums though trying to program installable drivers for it though, so keep a lookout for a way to do it :good:. If he doesn't though, you can always wait for the Fantec 911 Turbo S wheel and pedals to come out, they are the ones used at E3 and on the trailer with that driver woman going around the demo track, it is basically a rebranded g25 but without a couple features, like the realistic wheel lock and the amazing feedback system, although there will ofcourse be feedback
