Ok, I'm buying one of these. The FX-60 is slightly more costly, but what is the REAL difference between them?
Thanks,

Thats because most current games and some benchmark tests are only single threaded. In games such as Quake 4, CoD2, and a few others that support dual-cores, the FX-60 will be much better.Arm_Pit said:in overall desktop performance it is 15% better, but in some games the FX57 actully performes better then the FX60, and by alot. IT depends on what your useing it for for which is better.

It's also theoretically more future proof, because later on mroe and mroe thigns will be diesgned and work better with dual cores, but the thing is by that time, your going to want anoher CPU anyways![]()

But it IS an improvement, not to mention it has a slower clock speed.Arm_Pit said:
Also if you look at the benchmark for Quake 4 they did, it only performs 4% better.
heh... they both play at the elite performance... i doubt you would notice any difference on the gameplaying screen unless your looking at the FPS... but you won't be able to tell the difference on the actual gameplaying (unless your being all technical and 180 FPS insn't enough, and you need 200FPS... which is dumb even tho 200FPS is better, you won't notice a difference)Arm_Pit said:in overall desktop performance it is 15% better, but in some games the FX57 actully performes better then the FX60, and by alot. It looks like you didn't even look at the benchmarks, as Firingsquad was seeing above a 60% increase in framerate.Arm_Pit said:

Maybe im missing something, but wasnt he saying only a 4% increase with the FX60 over the FX57?Clutch said:It looks like you didn't even look at the benchmarks, as Firingsquad was seeing above a 60% increase in framerate.
